Hammer Time: A Blacksmithing and Metallurgy Event

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, the Princeton Materials Research Society (PUMRS) officers Anushka Dasgupta, Robert Buline and Abhiram Karuppur hosted the annual Hammer Time: A Blacksmithing and Metallurgy event. Over 90 students attended and everyone got to participate and hammer a keepsake. The event began with a metal talk from mechanical and engineering professor Craig Arnold, also director of the Princeton Institute for the Science and Technology of Materials (PRISM). A huge thank you to the professional smiths from the New Jersey Blacksmiths Association and graduate student Ryan Amos for spending their day with our students.
